I just finished watching the 2015 Hawaii Lantern Floating, which is the most beautiful and profound ceremony I have ever seen. As I watched I thought of how orthodox Christianity portrays God as violent, vengeful, unforgiving, willing to torture “sinners” for eternity with unquenchable fire, so warped in understanding that the only way He can think of to forgive “sinners” is to demand child sacrifice. I watch the beautiful Buddhist ceremony and tears flow that many who profess to follow the teachings of Jesus can adhere to orthodox Christianity. I am convinced that because the USA purports to be a Christian nation, many feel justified in committing violent acts. After all the Bible is full of “surface level” commands (purported to be orders from God) to go into a country and kill every man, woman, and child. During Jesus’ time, the Samaritans were to be avoided. Some of the most populous Christian denominations teach believing the literal English translation of the biblical words, so there is no way around all the killing found in the Bible. In Truth, what appears horrific on the surface is not when interpreted at the hidden wisdom level, but that level is not taught in churches. In fact, a minister who attempted to do so would be immediately fired. Christianity does not teach a Mother God, thereby depriving God of the feminine qualities of loving nurturance, gentleness, unconditional love. ******Although the event in Charleston was very likely a false flag event meant to instigate a racial war, may Americans use this event to instead rethink our concept of God … to open to a loving Mother/Father God … to recognize that the core of our being is LOVE. Watch this ceremony and ask: Does what I hear in this ceremony more nearly demonstrate the type of Love that will allow us all to create a world of harmony and peace? Did you know that Jesus studied Buddhist teachings during the years of his life not covered in the Bible? http://www.lanternfloatinghawaii.com/page/home
