“The Day out of time is the culmination of the 13 Moon Calendar year originated from the Mayan science of time. On July 25th, Sirius (the dog star) rises with the sun. This day is observed as a day free of time in the 13 Moon Calendar. July 26 marks the Mayan’s New Year!
I had forgotten that today was the DAY OUT OF TIME until just now. I find it very significant that I began my day by remembering my deceased grandfather, who so dearly loved his land.
Family farmers seem always to be in the news. They raise much of our food–the especially delicious food!. What would we do without them? Yet there seems to always be some greedy persons who want to seize their land or regulate them in some way. Farmers love their land. My Grandpa walked his land everyday. As a child, I loved to walk with him as he checked to see that his animals and crops were doing well. Mother told me of one time when Grandpa was sick and the family thought he was about to return to spirit. Instead, he got up and walked his land. Animals and crops were tenderly cared for. The family farmer becomes one with his land. Tonight, I want to honor family farmers and say, “Thank you!”
