What Will I Give Up for Lent? Let’s Agree to ……..!
Jesus is quoting Psalm 82:6 … “I say, ‘You are gods, children of the Most High, all of you.” (Even those preparing to kill me …in Jesus’ words–all of you.”
In the familiar creation story of Genesis, we have read: “Then God said, ‘Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness…. So God created humankind in his image.” Genesis 1:26-27 If God made us in God’s image and likeness, then we are child gods!
So why do we think we are dust?
As the Psalmist lamented: “I say, ‘You are gods, children of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, you shall die like mortals, and fall like any prince.” (Psalm 82:6-7) The Psalmist explains why we think we are dust in verse 5: “They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk in darkness.…”
We do not know Who We Are.
So, during this Lenten Season. let us give up that which will fail to transform our lives completely–the old beliefs that have taught us we are simply dust … the old beliefs that have prevented us from doing the works that Jesus did and more … the old beliefs that have prevented us from even daring to attempt to perform the works Jesus did. LET US FAST FROM THE OLD BELIEFS!
During this Lenten Season, preceding the Shift to the Golden Age on Earth, let us spend the 40 days of Lent learning Who We Truly Are! As we learn our true identity, and therefore out true potential, LET US FEAST ON WHO WE TRULY ARE!
Realizing our true identity is the only way we can manifest the works that Jesus did, much less even greater works than He did. Jesus gave our efforts to be truly who we are His blessing:
“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask[c] anything in My name, I will do it.
If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:12-18)
Listening to Gregg Braden’s lectures during Lent is the best way I know to learn Who You Truly Are!
