When the Spirit of Truth Comes

As Jesus prepared his disciples for his departure from the physical plane, he told them: "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come."
Jesus made it plain that during his earthly ministry, he had not revealed the whole of Truth to his disciples. "I still have many things to say to you."
Why had Jesus not revealed the whole of Truth? Because "you cannot hear them now." The Apostle Paul indicated the same lack of readiness on our part to hear the whole of Truth. I Corinthians 3:1-3 ---"Brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for solid food. Even now you are still not ready, for you are still of the flesh. For as long as there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not of the flesh, and behaving according to human inclinations?"
The majority of us still resists further unveiling of Truth. We respond: "The Word of God (meaning the literal reading of the English translation of the Bible) tells us all we need to know." OR ... "Oh, I can't listen to that ... it's New Age."
Although I intuitively sense that the hidden wisdom in the Bible extends into eternity, the surface reading of it certainly does not reveal the whole of Truth. Instead, we have Jesus and the apostle---who wrote or influenced the writing of many books within the New Testament---telling us: "I could not speak to you as spiritual people ... I fed you with milk, not solid food."
On the other hand, I challenge each of you to read all 4 gospels and find one favorable word that Jesus spoke regarding the religious authorities. Jesus stood apart from all religious authorities. Throughout his ministry, he disobeyed the man-made rules and traditions of the elders.
So, where does that leave us? Study the illustration of our Divine Self.
Divine Self (Elizabeth Claire Prophet)
Jesus and Paul discerned---based on our behavior and lack of comprehension of spiritual truth---that we are focused almost exclusively on the physical plane, as represented by the bottom figure. We possess little understanding beyond what we can perceive with our five physical senses. We state, often with pride, "I am a show-me-proof kind of person ... if you can't show me scientific proof of what you are saying, then I can't believe it." It's as if we cut off the upper two figures in our Divine Self Illustration and toss them aside. We imprison ourselves in what amounts to a matrix of lies and false assumptions. We depend upon the authorities to tell us what is true ... what is false.
This lack of attunement to the higher parts of our being renders us dependent upon others for a very limited amount of truth. We can be fed only milk, not solid food. We have accepted as true many false teachings, the most devastating ones being "You are separated from God." "You are powerless." "You are a grain of dust that will pass away into nothingness."
As long as we buy into these lies, we manifest that reality. We think of ourselves as solely the bottom figure, cut off from the remaining two higher figures---therefore, without a source of power, life, and intuitive knowing. We think we are solely our physical bodies and that with "one life to live," we might as well have a blast! With this focus solely on the physical body, we fulfill Genesis 3:19 --- "By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
WHO ARE WE? Jesus taught "ye are gods." (John 10:34) The Apostle Paul taught: "Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? ... For God's temple is holy, and YOU ARE THAT TEMPLE." I Corinthians 3:16-17) Study the illustration of our Divine Self. We are a temple of the Most High!
HOW DO WE LEARN TRUTH? Jesus taught, "The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you." (John 14:26) Study the illustration of our Divine Self. The Holy Spirit descending from the Father (the top figure) >>> into our Intuitive Mind (the 2nd figure) is symbolized by the Dove. A channel of Light extends from the Father (or God dwelling with us) >>> through the Intuitive Mind >>> and into the top of our physical head (this energetic opening in the head is called the Crown Chakra and is the spiritual passageway through which we receive guidance from Spirit).
How do we learn Truth? By loving God with all of our heart and with all of our mind and with all of our soul and with all of our strength AND LISTENING with a mind open to being fed the Truth regardless of how many lifelong beliefs we may have to toss aside.
Let us FAST from the "traditions of our elders" and FEAST on the messages of truth from the Holy Spirit within us!
